Background Investigations

PRE-EMPLOYMENT:

I am a firm believer in pre-employment background investigations for obvious reasons, as to include driving records, civil judgements and criminal records. However, I also do screening for the private client as well. I recently had a call from a client to do a pre-employment background check on herself. I have to admit, I was quite puzzled. Upon further inquiry, the client stated that she has been a stay at home Mom for many years and now that the kids are older, she's re-joining the work force. With the recent and continuing news on identity theft, stolen social security numbers, etc, she wanted to ensure that there were no black marks on her personal or financial history that were due to the criminal acts of another operating in her name. I was very happy to do it, and am now offering that as part of my services. We live in uncertain times, and it pays to make sure that our names and identity are not used for criminal purposes that would screw us up in any circumstances.

DATING SITES:

I also perform dating site background checks as well, which in the age of the internet can be very important as well. I was speaking to a dear friend of mine who finds themselves back in the dating game. This person is using on-line dating sites because, let’s face it…who really has the time in our road runner fast-paced lives to stop and take a look around. However, because of the anonymity these sites provide, the relevant stats, profile pictures and disposition of the individual can be easily masked and cover up something about themselves which could be insidious or criminal. With a background check, you can be sure that you’re going to know the person you will be potentially dating is as honest as the dating sites make him/her. All I’d need is a real name and the town/State of residence, and you’ll get marital status, employment data, possible criminal/civil actions against this person and any other data you’d think is important. I will also be able to determine if the person you may consider meeting for a date is a real person or if he/she is a computerized “phisher”, looking to use your identity for bad intent. This service can also be very important to the Dads of young daughters who are entering the dating world. I realize that dating in today’s world can be a mess, and the potential for fraud or other malevolent activity is a very real threat. Please indulge yourself with peace of mind that if you decide to meet someone from these sites that they are who they say they are.

RENTAL PROPERTY/TENANT BACKGROUND:

For many of us, rental real estate investments is a wonderful way to supplement our regular income. However, if we don't take precautions, rental properties can be VERY expensive.
I cannot even count how many horror stories I have heard from friends and family regarding the "personal quality" of the people they rent out to, until it's too late. The physical damage caused by renters who d...o not respect the home you provide can be very costly, in time, money and personal well being.
Even if you contract a broker to rent out the property for you, the only background check they do, (and sometimes, do not do), is a credit score report, which is barely a fraction of what you should know about the person(s) you rent out to.
